until something is handled, I have permission to post the discord announcements here. included will be screenshots and hyperlinks included in the announcement. I will also do a direct copy-paste for those who need the text itself for accessibility reasons, however it will be in a reply to the thread itself.

the cut off segment is just a footnote explaining what the bug caused. it reads "(this fixes the mp exclusive issue where noclipping into ember blocks made them explode still)"

Better than Adventure! v8.0-pre3

@everyone Hello! It's been a hot minute since prerelease 2, and we've spent that time feverishly working away and refining 8.0 based on your feedback. We've squashed a number of bugs, including some very important and long-standing ones, and found the time to add a little more polish on top. For the full changelog, please see ⁠(DISCORD CHANNEL LINK).

Note that this is a prerelease, which mean that it will be unstable and may eat your world. Be careful, take backups regularly, and report any bugs you find at https://bugs.betterthanadventure.net/.

Downloads
The best way to get this prerelease is to use the Better than Adventure! Updater v3.0 (link below). To install it, simply drag and drop the downloaded ZIP file into Prism Launcher or MultiMC and import it. Then, run the updater, enable "Advanced Mode" in the bottom left, and change the Version to "v8.0-pre3". Then click "Select", and "Install". You'll see a new "Better than Adventure!" instance in your launcher, which you can then run. If you have any questions, please ask, and one of our team will assist you as soon as they can.
READ THIS
As of this version, the required Java version for BTA! has been increased from Java 8 to Java 17. If you don't know what this means or how to upgrade, please ask.

== Changes ==
- Updated Brimstone Brick texture
- Gave emissive textures to bucket items
- Added pressure plate recipes for new stone/cobble pressure plate types
- AssetPacks can now define min_format and max_format fields in the assetpack manifest.json to define a range of supported format versions
- Made moss bonemealing consistent with its natural spread behavior
- Added ash block to ash layers recipe
- Added functionality to fire arrows
- Updated fire arrow texture
- Added rubyglass painting border
- Added acid death message
- You can now drown in acid
- Reverted easy bridge mechanics to 7.3 behavior
- A lot of tweaks and fixes to the Matcher and Conduit
- Adjusted sulfur trommel rates and made it yield 4 sulfur consistently
- Pockets of sulfur now spawn in the sulfur pools
- Pockets of soul sand now spawn in the old world
- Made netherrack generation more consistent across the Nether
- Made gloomstone generation more consistent with netherrack
- Secret achievements are now obfuscated
- Completed achievement gray lines now render over incomplete ones
- Acid source fluid now turns into sulfur on contact with water, and brimthaw on contact with lava regardless of dimension
- Added Nether achievements
- Item Dragging now respects slot's max stack size
- You can now blast smelt Rubyglass Column and Brimsand into Rubyglass Crystal
- Cobbled Gloomstone now crushes into Ash
- Added new statue item textures (from @Doop)
- Pigs now wander when in water and saddled, upon getting back on land they sit down
- Lower brimstone hardness to be more in line with sandstone but slightly harder
- Slightly tweaked the Ash texture
- Burning blocks with fire now drops ash onto the ground
- Logs catch fire more easily and burn slightly faster
- Added a separate color correction slider for the Nether
- Added some more gamerules (doFireBurn, fireSpread, doExplosionGriefing)
- Removed acidTickRate gamerule
- Merged item despawn delays into one gamerule for all item despawning to avoid confusion
- Added frameTimeCounter to shaders
- Workbench block is now rotatable
- Various fixes for left-hand mode

- Adjusted acid melt rate to be more aggressive

- Items inside of blocks now render lit, which sounds wrong but in the context of being pushed out it looks much less jarring

- Global GUI Scale no longer says "Disabled" when any given override is set
