You wake up in a weird structure, some kind of prisión. Will you escape? or die in the progress?

Now that BTA have a forum, i can use it as a excuse to upload some Adventures maps i made here (with some fixes). Enjoy this recompilation of the first 3 maps i made for this mods, enjoy it.

Notes.-
  • This is inspired in some escape rooms and rogue-likes.
  • I invite you to make maps yourself and use my maps has an "template" for your maps.
  • If you get stuck, like the key-card dropper or the hallway to the second Cage or maybe i forget to leave a key, you can cheat.
  • You can read "The Cage 3 CONTEXT.txt" if you only want to play The Cage III.
The Cage I you wake up in a weird structure, some kind of prisión.

In The Cage II you wake up inside The Cage again, asking to yourself, how is that possible? You remember beating The Cage before...

In The Cage III you wake up inside The Cage again… but somehow you feel this is the last one, this is the last time you will have to beat The Cage.

Sounds interesting, I will give it a go over the next week or so. Could use some pretty pictures though.
EDIT: I realize there are some pictures attached, but they are dead Discord links and unviewable. Might i suggest using Imgur instead..?

OK, I've played through it all, I suppose 241 times, and it was.. eh.

The cramped spaces make most of the fights awkward at best, and never particularly challenging. I was starved for resources a few times, but since dying had not much repercussion besides returning to my bed, I could just keep punching zombies over and over until i can get to the next room. Not a very overwhelming feat. The keepInventory rule is very generous for a map like this with no real risk of actually losing your items forever if you die, except via creeper explosion.

The item and monster choices are really strange. The player is given a LOT of armor, most of which they don't even need because the chainmail armor gives the best protection against all monster attacks except for explosions, and, in the first map at least, the player gets a full set of it very quickly. The spiders and slimes play very weirdly. They don't fit through the doors, so you can just sit behind one and hack at them with your fist, at absolutely no risk to yourself. You don't even have to fight the zombie pigmen at all. You can just walk right past them, because they're neutral.

In general the maps are very repetitive, being as it is just a lot of 3x3 boxes with monsters inside. The color changes are nice, but the structure is exactly the same throughout... the interlude floor gave me a disarming chuckle when I came to it. There are also a few soft-locks that required me to cheat to progress, including a button for a dispenser that just did not work.

There is a neat idea here. I think the only thing I have to say is you should just 'go bigger', and play-test more.

Thanks for the feedback. :wolfblock:
There are not many mobs in BTA and i dont want to force the player to download mods for play it so, im working on that.
Also, some redstone things broke when the game updated i dont known why, but it makes somethings more hard to make.

If i ever made a fourth map of this, im gonna try make it a more hard challenge :cracktivator:
