I really want to keep playing more frequently, but don't have tha capacity to continue playing once I get a house built, especially on singleplayer because I'm REALLY bad at self-assigning tasks or projects... how do y'all work through it, aside from just taking a break of some kind?

Have you tried multiplayer ? BTA kinda killed single player minecraft for me :wolfblock: Even if I don’t feel like logging on can still chat to my friends and keep up with how the world is progressing, and I find having other people that want me around encourages me to keep coming back to it and actually complete projects, or if I don’t have the motivation for my own stuff helping other people with their stuff always feels good.

In single player I also always had the same issue of now that Ive made a house what do I do :wolfblock: I think it’s more of a minecraft problem than a you problem

i dont think ive ever experienced burnout so this advice might be terrible but why not just keep playing? surely if you wander around your world for long enough you will eventually come up with some idea of something to do

hmm yeah maybe i dunno. ive always been more a singleplayer guy but what ever works for you i guess. the way i best enjoy the game is by being a stats junkie. what i mean is try making separate multimc profile for a single world and develop your statistics tab as high as you can go and keep going. who knows you might adopt this style and love it so its worth a shot

Minecraft's Singleplayer can be pretty bad when it comes to burn out, it's always better with friends. Unfortunately, Multiplayer is more difficult to pull off so I get it.
I've got a few ideas but I'm not sure how good they are:
• Completion - Collect every item and block, kill and collect every mob, earn all the achievements, find every biome.
• Recording/Streaming - Try to record and/or livestream while playing if that's your thing or if you wanna get into it.
• Multiplayer - You could buy a server and play with other people (or keep it to close friends) or try hosting the server yourself. Better than Singleplayer!
• Involve the Community - Maybe post/poll every so often on this forum for ideas on what to build/do. (if you're playing old minecraft and you don't build a rollercoaster, you're not living life to the fullest dude.)

These are some ideas if you meant literally, "I don't know what to do":
• Make a Story
• Build a Rollercoaster
• Grow a G*eugh*
• blow everything up.
• Pixel Art
• cram an insane amount of cows and chickens in a 1x1 space in the sky, then on New Year's break one of the walls and watch them fly out like fireworks.
• Build a Beacon structure
• Put 24192 Steel Ingots into a chest
• Drench the Nether in blood
• Drench the Overworld in lava
• Put the Nether in the Overworld
• Put the Overworld in the Nether
• build a bigger house
• Build a Hotel
• Terraform a large area

I don’t like just... scaling up. I prefer the building style of "if it's not unique, there's no place for it". Which is as problematic as it sounds...

And this also touches on multiplayer so I'll reply to it at the same time; it doesn't help much. I suck at socializing, and most people find me rather abrasive, annoying, some mix of the two, just straight up don't like me otherwise, or are the same type of autistic as me and INSTANTLY connect. I will probably start streaming at some point, but until my mental and physical state improves it will literally be once in a blue moon

yeah, I feel the same way, sometimes honestly.
people here recommend playing with friends and I honestly wouldn't mind that but the thing is that none of my friends really play it

Some stuff that worked for me personally since I had a similar problem:

1) Viewing the game as more of a toybox/playground rather than an art project. That way I can focus on figuring out which parts of the game I actually find enjoyable without fixating on making my world into a piece of art. While BTA (and minecraft in general) is a form of creative expression for me, I also try to remember that it's also a videogame that I play for myself and for my own well being. That mindset just helps me be more inclined to explore different play styles and just mess around in my world, and only work on cool builds when it's fulfilling for me and when I actually want to make them

2) Creating a world without planning to actually stick around with it.
I started playing on my now long-term BTA world without making any plans for it. I thought that I would play just for a few days just like I did with all of the worlds before, but then I ended up enjoying myself for way longer and playing on this world to this very day because it's genuinely making my life a bit better.
So maybe something that might work for you is creating a new world (or logging into an old one) with the main intent of just.. well.. playing. Doing whatever you want for as long as you want, and just seeing how it goes

3) Thinking more about how the process of creating my builds is gonna feel rather than about the end result. The end result is still important to me of course, especially considering that I'm gonna continue seeing all of my builds in the future, but it's arguably more important that they were fun or interesting to create, because that way even if I'm not gonna like a build or even tear it down - I'm not gonna regret it that much because at least I had fun making it and wasn't just draining my energy purely for the end result. (Also, I just tend to like the builds more if I enjoyed myself while making them because that way they hold good memories)

I know that those are pretty specific to my own experience, but who knows, maybe some of them might be helpful to you as well. Just remember to not push yourself too hard.
Also I'm sorry if this was kinda long -.-"

Some people like me are just bored out by single player because once you reach stability you don't really have anything to strive for. However multiplayer is amazing because you can visit other people's homes, check changes, make towns, collaborate on projects like stadiums, connect each other with railways and waterways and make life easier with big factories. Especially on BTA where you're not overwhelmed by infinity blocks and mechanics, you don't have OP enchantments or bosses to complete and you can just sandbox away forever. And whenever new BTA versions release, you can have fun with your peers exploring the new mechanics. Once you go SMP you never go back, in my opinion.

To be honest; I have just started BTA and what keeps me going is the discovery of it. I feel like a kid playing Minecraft for the very first time, and I'm VERY knowledgeable about the game- so I love that feeling. Maybe you don't have you create some giant build, it's just really fun to explore around and figure things out. Why don't you try searching for every biome? Or doing a house in each?! Or a city? Or a town? Minecraft's always been endless but it feels especially innocent in BTA once more :D
