Posted: 17 Jul 2026, 20:21
Hi, this is a list of mods i found that are at some point similar to BTA, why? Because i love playing this "Alternative reality" mods of Minecraft.
The only rules for the list are:
If someone finds a new mod please PLEASE share the link in the replies, i would love to play them.

The only rules for the list are:
- No Modpacks, they need to be their own version
- No Mod of a Mod, they should all be base of vanilla Minecraft
- No Vanilla with only a few fixes, these versions need at least some kind of new content
If someone finds a new mod please PLEASE share the link in the replies, i would love to play them.
And now, the list of the mods i found (With a little description):All this mods worked for me and my Integrated Intel Graphics, using MultiMC and 1Gb to 3Gb of Ram.
- Minecraft Classic Plus
The start of a coleccion of mods called "Legacy Plus", this version of Minecraft Classic have some additions like different types of worlds, some new gamemodes (that i couldnt understand how it works, i dumb i guess) and blocks. The main focus is building like the classic game, the bad side is the performance (30 Fps max in my Laptop) and the end of support.
- Minecraft Indev Plus
The second of the collection "Legacy Plus", this mod focus on Minecraft indev survival with a very interesting gameplay mechanic, called "Characters", this characters have their own rules (That you can set once) and the ability to travel across worlds while keeping the same inventory. Is something that you need to see to understand (It even have custom portals to travel to new types of worlds). It also adds more features like beds (You cannot skip the night, sad), new weapons, mobs, blood moon and more. The Performance was good (with a little lag from time to time), but the creator ending the support for the mod, like Classic Plus.
- Minecraft Infinite
This is the last (and biggest) mod of the collection "Legacy Plus", the main focus is Adventure and it adds so much content to Minecraft Infdev (Yes, the mod is based on real Infdev) that it started to feel Infinite. The main additions (that i can remember) are Bosses, locked chests with loot, Legendary tools/Weapons, new mobs, new biomes, 3 new dimensions, a final boss and much MUCH more. This is the only mod from the list that i manage to beat (it was really hard though) and my personally my favorite. The performance is good and (in this date) still have support.
- Minecraft Alpha Recrafted
This mod changes Minecraft Alpha into making it a more "Modern" experience without changing the core too much. I didnt played this version yet (Busy with Minecraft Infinite lol) but when im done playing it i will edit this part to describit better.
- Minecraft Beta Recrafted
Following the same focus on Alpha Recrafted, this version is based on Minecraft Beta and while im writing this is still in development, ass far i could play it adds small things like new types of worlds, some new blocks and ores, creative gamemode and other small things that you should see for yourself. The performance is good and it have an active support.
- Minecraft Not So Seecret Saturday (The link is for Minecraft Forum, the official website is: http://notsoseecretsaturday.net)
This mod for Minecraft Alpha 1.1.2_01 tries to repliate the experience of the "Secret updates" Notch make in 2010 while developing Minecraft. Thanks to that (and my very bad skill of finding things) im not really sure how many thing the mods adds/changes from the original Minecraft Alpha, but the few i know are things like improved performance, quality of life improvements, a more functional multiplayer, fixes to original minecraft alpha and more things that YOU can discover for yourself.
- Minecraft ReIndev (The link is for the discord of the mod)
ReIndev focus is bring back the "old feeling" of Minecraft while adding more mobs, blocks, items and more. I dont have much to say because i didnt play it as much i did with other mods, im gonna edit this to describe the mod better when i spend enough time playing it. Try it by yourself, do what i dont do because lazyness.
- Minecraft Cocoa!
Minecraft Cocoa is based on Beta 1.7.3 with a focus on polish the game and making a more complete experience adding things like creative mode, corals, sponges, quality of life and more small things while trying to keep as simple as posible. I didnt know about this version until some days ago (and it looks that is a finished mod), so i havent spending enough time for me to give it a better description.
- Minecraft: Voxels in Time
This is one of the most complex/unique mods of the list, in this version of Minecraft based on Beta 1.7.3 you can travel to OTHER VERSIONS (Yes, other versions) from Classic Minecraft to Release 1.0 and many other unique versions of the game using portals that generate across the world. This mods add a lot of content and some of that content is hidden from the player (There is no wiki, sad), the bad things of the mod is is its instability, i have a lot of crashes while playing it (something understandable seeing the kind of madness the mod is). The performance is good (as far i could play it) but be prepared for the game crashing at any moment.
- Minecraft Diverge
This mod is based on Minecraft Alpha v1.1.2_01, the focus of the mod is taking Minecraft Alpha into new and different directions with new biomes, magic items and late game additions. Again, i only tested the mod too see if it runs on my laptop, but i didnt give it enough play time, so again im gonna edit this part when im fully played the mod to give it a better description.
- Minecraft Beta 1.8.X
This mod is one of the most unique of the list, based on Minecraft Beta 1.8.1 this mod do something really interesting, remember that horror story about Mario 64 being different depending on who play it? Well take that idea to Minecraft and you get this mod. The mod "Updates" every ingame day changing/adding things every time (even changing the version name) doing things like adding "Skill points", new structures, new biomes and "some" horror elements. The bad thing about the mod are the frequent terrain bugs that can make the player die in a very unfair way. The performance is good and the mod complete his development a while ago.
- Minecraft Authentic Adventure
This mod is based on Minecraft 1.2.5, the main focus being revert the game into a more "beta" and minimalistic feeling, adding more content to the End Dimension, Reworking things like Hunger and Enchanting, more customization for world making and more small thing. There is not a lot to say about this one, but im gonna keep playing it to see if there is something more to add.
- Minecraft Beta Recobbled
This mod is based on Minecraft Beta 1.7.3, the main focus is making beta Minecraft a more smooth experience, while keeping its atmosphere, charm, and gameplay loop with some new features like a new armor set, a freezer, lamps, corals (i think) and other things. The mod was released 6 months ago (in this date) so is one of the most recent mods on the list. Like the other mods on this list i dont have too much to say because i didnt play it enough time, but after playing it a good amount of time i will edit this part to explain more about it.
- New Frontier Craft
Im not sure if New Frontier Craft is a Mod or a Modpack, so im just gonna put it in here until having a god answer. This mod is very complex and i dont think my barely functional brain can memorize more thing about Minecraft without transforming into a soup, but maybe one day i will give it a try.
- Modification Station (The link is for a Discord Server)
This is a server for Alpha and Beta modders, where there are a lot of small custom versions of Minecraft Alpha/Beta and mods for the vanilla alpha/beta versions. It is worth checking it out.
