Java 17 or 25 for BTA 8.0?

Launching BTA with Java 25 works (client and/or server), though I'm not exactly sure if there is any benefit.
Would it cause any trouble? And if there is no benefit would it make more sense to just go with recommended Java 17?

Generally recommend 17 because it’s tested and has never failed me. In theory versions above 17 should be backwards compatible but I have personally encountered random issues using newer versions and it’s not guaranteed it will work for everyone, even if it works for you.

BTA devs will probably eventually upgrade to java 25 or newer (esp when project Valhalla comes out) also there shouldn't be any issues so imo it doesn't matter

Could someone send a link to the right version of Java for this mod? I don't think I have an old enough version of java installed on my system anymore, or it's buried in some folder I've lost track of lol. I'm about as tech savvy as a boomer so I don't know which version to install.

If you're on Prism Launcher you can easily open the java page from settings and there is a downloader there. If you still just want a normal install though, I think
Adoptium 17 is the recommended one
