updater not working

the guide says just launch the updater and it should automatically update but its not doing anything? i wanna play the new update but im stuck on 7.3 for now 
you will need java 17 for the latest version.
you need 17 for the updater too, there is an issue where it doesn’t automatically select 17.
the fix is easy
Right click instance > click Edit.. > click Settings > under Java click Detect.. or Auto-Detect.. > double click any version of 17
if you don’t have java 17 installed, you can download it directly from prism launcher, or you can manually install from the website if you’re using multimc https://adoptium.net/en-GB/temurin/rele ... y&arch=any
