minecraft at its core is a sandbox game. you need to make your own goals in the game, or no kidding you're gonna be bored.
think of something funny to do! infinite sheep juggler! giant automatic redstone restaurant! think of something that sounds fun, and then do that. if the player cant think of reasons to keep playing after steel, that's on the player.

I've found myself for years having similar issues with Minecraft as a whole and not just BTA. I don't have any specific advice because I don't understand the circumstances for your boredom, but I can give you some techniques that I've used before to extend the phase.

- Write down on a piece of paper the things you want to do

I find this helps me actually put out my goals and prioritize them so I don't have to focus on 50 things at once.

- Try new things you wouldn't do in a playthrough or session normally and allow yourself to fail

Trying new things adds variety to your game. If you start a new world, get resources and build a house every time, that gets really stale really fast. Try making an elaborate redstone door, a cobble farm without looking up a design, build in a new style or with blocks you haven't used before.

- Don't force it

Only play BTA if you want to play it. It's your copy of the game and nobody is forcing you to commit time to it. If you open the game and it's starting to feel like a chore then put it down and go do something else. I have had month long breaks from playing. It's okay, It's just a semi-niche Minecraft mod. There is no "Fear of Missing out" from taking a break.

I find the best way to keep interest in playing is to have plans for builds you want to do. I always enjoy building out a huge town. Planning out the different buildings and layout. Right now I'm working on 2 towns on 2 different bta servers. I have a good idea of how I want them to look. So if i get tired of one build I can start on another or start gathering materials for a different build. There is always something to do. I also find building on servers a lot more fun and motivating because other players can visit and maybe help out with builds or material needs. Anyways as long as you have a good idea of something to build it will help greatly. :D

The two week minecraft phase largely exists due to that being the general timeframe to complete progression in vanilla minecraft. BTA is more sandbox focused and like OP said, you will reach that point more quickly in terms of progression. You will need to create your own goals if you want to stay motivated, or just play something else.

Could also try playing on an smp, maybe you'll find it enjoyable for longer than a singleplayer world? :p

My advice for curing boredom is to build a large casino and spend the rest of your playthrough gambling

For me, the "Two week Minecraft phase" has been basically obliterated now that I've switched to playing BTA as my main Minecraft version.

What I would recommend is just switching things up, download a few mods that seem interesting to you, or make a Hell world.

my trick is to keep writing down ideas until i have far more to work on than i'll complete in a year, and when playing i just take my time. i play only when i want to, rather than whenever i decide to waste time, and i just hop on to chip away at any one of these projects or the infrastructure tasks leading up to them. i do sit down to grind something out, but only because i enjoy taking that on. if i'm tired, i do something else in my world for a while or even take a break from the world or game entirely.

always have something going on, but don't press yourself about completing it right away. show up with your blocks, let it happen when it happens, and if it doesn't wanna happen or is stressing you out, leave it in that state and do something else. and that's how you'll play forever <3

I kind of go in and out with Minecraft. I'd say just let it take its course. If you don't have any ideas on what to build or are just bored, take a break! You'll get the itch again eventually. I sometimes just like to pop on to a world for even just a few minutes to do a simple task. Creativity sparks at different times, you can't force it. Hope this helps! :D

I think the 2 week Minecraft phase doesn't really exist in BTA as it does in Vanilla thanks to the lack of enchanting and The End.

Both of those mechanics (ESPECIALLY enchanting) end up killing motivation so hard because instead of building cool things after the first few days, you feel obligated to tediously search for and AFK farm a mob spawner because Fortune and Efficiency are too much of must-haves to pass up for long-term building. And then in turn you're obligated to go after either Netherrite or Mending because otherwise the time you spent getting the enchants and XP for them will have gone to waste after enough time. BTA has a lot less mechanics which cause that kind of tedious friction imo.

It's totally possible that you might want to take breaks or only play in short bursts every few days or so, that's completely normal. I just don't think that's the same thing as the 2-week Minecraft phase.

i've played minecraft since 2011 and never ever gotten netherite lol, but my mindset is "ah cool i have enchanted diamond gear i beat the game" basically just how people played during alpha where the "goal" was to get diamonds

i don't actually mind having a "phase" with minecraft, i think it's good to let it take its course, you might get burnt out on the game if you force yourself to play it just to keep having a "forever world" or whatever because it's cool to have one now (i mean, it IS very cool, it's just a thing that you can't bruteforce imo)
