I've had three main sets that I switch between. Mostly I use steel helmet, diamond chest, chain legs and leather boots which gets me 60-75 in all damage types plus leather boots for farmland. I love them in multiplayer because they give the feeling of development and infrastructure. I don't think I'd use them in singleplayer though, just because you don't have multiple people's bases to connect.

My go-to is Worry by Jeff Rosenstock, which I've found is a nice contrast to calm building. Sometimes if I'm mining or doing something monotonous I'll put on a podcast instead though.
