BTA! 7.3 and below can run on Java 8, however, as of BTA! 8.0 you need Java 17 to be able to launch the game.
Below are the steps to switching to Java 17:

1- Download Java 17 via this website: Click!

2- Open your launcher be it MultiMC or Prism Launcher and select your BTA! instance.

That's their discord username, not their id.

I don't know their history in the main BTA discord, but I banned them from my server for being a suspicious account (New account, all numbers in the username, joining through the BTA ...

were you hacked? it could be that you were banned due to spamming scam messages.

Are you from Russia?
because the sound servers are blocked in Russia so the sounds won't download automatically.
You can find the sound files on the discord server to manually download them.

While BTA provides some gamerules to disable some things, most additions cannot be disabled.
You can either play the mod and not interact with the additions too much via the classic world type,
or, play the mod as it is.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it as most bta additions aren't very jarring and fit ...

I've not heard of any way to do this unfortunately.
you'll probably have to make a mod if you really want no name tags.

my tool usage evolves over time, early game it's mostly steel, but late game when I can afford diamonds I use those for tools besides the sword which I use steel for.
for armour I use 2 chain pieces, one steel, and leather boots

I would personally make similar recipes like dying wood be an expandable list, like it's done in GT:NH.
I would also make the recipe book more accessible by having a small button in the inventory UI that opens it, because most people don't read the toasts that appear when you first load a world.
