Texture Pack Opinions
What do you guys think about texture packs that completely overhaul the look of the game? I for one never use overhaul texture packs but I know lots of people do, so I'd like to know how you guys feel.

Re: Texture Pack Opinions
I think they’re cool. I would not use them personally since I want to see my builds the same way others see them if I play on a server. If i play in a single player world im cool with a texture pack that changes a few things maybe. I feel overhaul texture packs makes the game feel too different most times. And I love how vanilla bta looks.

Ditto on the cool.
Unless the server has the pack applied to everyone, I keep it close to vanilla on multiplayer with stuff like Vanilla Tweaks, Fresh Animations, or fixes/tweaks...

Re: Texture Pack Opinions
i don't usually use them, which would normally mean i never would since i like a consistent look to my game. but that's a bit of a shame because there's so many wonderful textures im not seeing, so i figured out a way to have both. now whenever i join a server for however brief a time, i pick an overhaul pack and use it only with that server and nowhere else, and thus i get to experience this stuff completely for the period in which i hyperfocus on the server before i lose interest and go back to singleplayer. if you're forgetful and may not remember to switch, make a separate instance for multiplayer and just keep the pack always enabled there - that's what i do.
so it's on four elephants, right? and on a turtle. yes, at the same time. yes, it's a big turtle. and it spins. no, the world spins. the sun goes around it. well it's kinda complicated due to the orbits but it's like having two years in one.

Re: Texture Pack Opinions
I like the default look of Minecraft a lot, but I do prefer Jappa's textures over the beta textures. There aren't many texture packs like that for BTA unfortunately.

I use these texture packs when I want to make a modpack with a certain atmosphere
like Star Odyssey for alien industrial progression

Yeah, I like consistency as well, same issue here with so many nice texture packs. I like making texture packs as well, but don’t think I’d be able to make one cohesive texture pack, so I mainly make small ones. Utility and tweaks (usually ones that make use of cool features).
Perhaps one day I’ll have made enough tweaks such that when all my packs are enabled you’ll get the wildforester experience!
