The server went live over 2 years ago and has been up 24/7 since.
We aim for a casual and friendly survival experience, building a lively world with many unique builds.
Griefing, stealing and generally misbehaving is not tolerated, this place is to chill and have fun.
Simply a standard BTA survival experience, with the sleeping percentage set to 50%, mob griefing disabled and otherwise default settings.

Based in Europe (NL), the server has a low-latency connection and is set up in a reliable way.
The server will stay up in the long term, if I ever decide to take it down I will make a world download available.
On a weekly basis, updates are applied and a (private) full backup gets made.

I approve this server

I have been playing on and off on this server for over a year now and have had a great time! Really like the style of the builds here and especially the overworld railway system. I'm currently working on a huge castle town called Midgard at x-1100 y-500 (you can take the railway from spawn) so please check it out if you decide to play on the server!!

Very nice community, some of the things I've done. Last image is a rail line extension I made that stretches ~1.4k blocks to the main rail network.

This server is still around, it is due time for me to make another news post.
Work is ongoing to expand the rail network with a second line, with highly decorated stations.
Currently activity is low, but this server has a history of periodically bouncing back.
And it goes without saying that the over 2 years old world is full of history, though there is plenty land for new bases around the train network.

On the digital infrastructure side, I am moving to soon upgrade the server's base from OpenSUSE Leap 15.6 to Leap 16.0.
The past half year I was occupied with an insane but incredibly fun Uni project, hence this neglect in technical maintenance.
This week I have also been exploring setting up a Matrix homeserver.
Which will have to wait for now, but in the long term I will offer a Matrix space as an alternative to my Discord.

This server now has a Matrix Space as an alternative chat channel to the Discord Guild.
You can join it at #bta:wyvern.red, currently the space is public.
It is NOT bridged with Discord nor the ingame chat, so you stay in control of where messages are shared.
Consider it a separate and smaller place for players of this server to hang out in.

If you are new to Matrix, note that accounts at a different homeserver than matrix.org will be significantly faster and usually have less upload restrictions.
I use https://federated.nexus/ myself, but feel free to look further or simply accept the matrix.org slowness.
The Cinny client is more familiar when coming from Discord and generally works better than Element/Revolt.
On mobile I found SchildiChat Next to work well, it has less synchronisation issues than Element X.
But you can explore https://matrix.org/ecosystem/clients/ for other clients to use.

With the BTA 7.4 Nether update coming soon, I will remind again that I intend to reset the Nether with this update.
I will probably keep a radius of 1024 blocks (give or take a power of 2) around spawn, to preserve the infrastructure here.
But be sure to clear out materials put in tunnels further out if you want to keep these after the upgrade.

Considering how inactive the server has been, I suppose it would be worth the risk to update on release and make use of the initial launch hype.
This is out of character for me, but with the Nether being under-developed that does open up this possibility.
