How do We create a (free) BTA server?

Post by Carboy45 »

My Mom and Me love BTA and have been wanting to play together, but unlike vanilla there is no LAN option... I tried creating a server on Aternos and it doesn't support BTA and couldn't find anything on here telling how to make a server so I decided I would ask Myself- Anyone here have any clue? Please Thanks!

are you guys on the same wifi network?
go to https://betterthanadventure.net/downloads and download the “server.jar” then run that, that is a lan server.

If you’re on the same wifi and you’re running server.jar then the other person just needs to type in the local ip of the computer running the server in the multiplayer menu.

There are a lot of tutorials for hosting a beta server online which might help, bta isnt much different.

We're on the same WiFi, but I've never run a server that way before so I have no clue how(also we're playing on 1.7.3 since 1.8 would never work)... either way Thank You for the help and I'll let You know how Your suggestions go and get back to You! PS I hope this has nothing to do with port forwarding because the last time I tried that it was ridiculously complicated to try and setup so I gave up.

You don't need to port forward if you're on the same network
