Modding BTA?

Post by Kippikal »

So i recently got into this mod but I wanted to install mods that complement it like there's this backpack mod called better with bags but the author never showed the actual crafting recipes on either their modpage nor github page so I don't know how to craft the bags, then i tried downloading the backported mod menu mod but when I launched the game theres no button for it anywhere that i checked, are my mods even working? I checked the console upon startup plenty of times and it seem to 'work', I even tried using a babric launcher to compare and that would just show errors on launch in the console showing incompatibilities outright, im really puzzled with how to check for things in this, is there a TooManyItems sort of mod that i can install to see if its working or not for better than adventure?

1. Make sure you are using the fabric instance.
https://github.com/Turnip-Labs/bta-fabr ... o/releases
2. Make sure it is using Java 17.
Click the instance, click edit, click settings, click java, click auto detect
It should automatically pick 17 assuming you have it installed but it can hurt to make sure.
3. When you launch the game you can check it worked becuase there will be a Mods button in the main menu
4. Install mods by placing them into your minecraft/mods folder
https://github.com/Testure/TMB/releases (too many items)
https://github.com/MinecraftLabs/better ... s/releases
only download and use the .jar ignore the -sources.jar

Just to be clear you can check recipes using R with base bta, you can disable hide undiscovered items in the options.

If you can’t make it work it would help if you could attach a log.
You can upload logs directly from your launcher by clicking edit > Minecraft Log > Upload in top right. :wolfblock:

Ohhhhh, it worked, i didn't know there was a fabric loader that comes with BTA, i donwloaded BTA straight from the site but it only showed the updater and the manual jar file so i thought i did something wrong, thanks so much!
