Armor setups?
I usually lean towards a mix of fall and blast protection since I use the hand cannon quite frequently as a means of transportation, but I'm curious about what setups you guys like to use, aside from the standard matching sets of course.
If anyone has a better setup to pair with the hand cannon I'd also like to know, because I'm sure mine probably isn't the best.

Re: Armor setups?
That's a pretty good combo for the handcannon, I don't know of anything better. I've recently been going all in on chainmail but there's probably a better armor setup for general use.zowlastname wrote: ↑05 Dec 2025, 05:27 I usually lean towards a mix of fall and blast protection since I use the hand cannon quite frequently as a means of transportation, but I'm curious about what setups you guys like to use, aside from the standard matching sets of course. Re: Armor setups?
Iirc, boots actually boost your fall damage more than other items
My ideal setup is:
Leather boots
Steel leggings
Chainmail chestplate
Gold for general use, diamond for nether, steel for blast jumping helmet

Re: Armor setups?
Full steel with a leather chestplate should be the best for handcannon travel. It has almost max explosion protection and very good fall protection. If going for horizontal travel it should only take maybe 0.5 a heart each time.
Also, this is my current setup, general all around good. Not as much in combat since this is on a server and generally bow and arrow is much safer than hand to hand due to ping

Re: Armor setups?
I've had three main sets that I switch between. Mostly I use steel helmet, diamond chest, chain legs and leather boots which gets me 60-75 in all damage types plus leather boots for farmland.
If I'm building in the nether I'll go half diamond half steel which is pretty good stats except less combat and fall.
Sometimes if I'm making a really tall building I'll do full leather but I've found it breaks too fast and I'd rather just carry a water bucket.
Interesting how many people here use the hand cannon to move around, I hadn't thought much about that.

This is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it’s still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world. You’re still alive.

The overall performance feels quite similar, but that does seem much easier to maintain considering you only need a leather chestplate as opposed to leggings and a helmet, thanks!wildforester wrote: ↑05 Dec 2025, 09:19 Full steel with a leather chestplate should be the best for handcannon travel. That mixed set actually seems like a pretty good all rounder, i feel like id forget to repair the chainmail and end up losing it thoughPhoebruary wrote: ↑05 Dec 2025, 12:24 I've had three main sets that I switch between. Once you get used to how it works, flying around at mach 10 with the hand cannon is really fun, Ive found it much more useful as a traversal tool than as an actual weapon, though launching enemies with it is always fun lol

Re: Armor setups?
I think this would be my favorite setup. The golden quiver just looks super sick and it's kind of a flex. It's also fun to spam shoot with the bows.
